The yield is less than 1 kg per vine. Maceration for 4 days without fermentation and then another 6 days with fermentation. After pressing, the wine is aged for 18 months in 500 litre oak barrels. Further ageing in bottles for 6 months.
The variety has a high tannin content but low acidity. The predominant flavours are of blackberries, black cherries and plums with a fine spiciness.
